A Charming Village To Live or Retire In The Heart of Mexico

Home Lifestyle How To Find Listings More Info

There is lots to do and see in Ajijic.
You will be able to keep yourself as relaxed or as busy
as you want to be.

The history of Ajijic goes back to 1531. Life here has changed a bit but you can still feel the past as you sit in the village plaza and watch the donkeys pass by or the children as they play in the streets. Life here is typically simpler, slower and tradition is all around you.

There are over 30 different wonderful restaurants for you to choose from for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The range of tastes is something you will not easily get bored of. Whether you are in the mood for Japanese, Chinese, Greek, Western, Spanish, Asian, Fine Dining, traditional Mexican, Italian, German or just feel like soup and a sandwich there is a place for you to eat. And that is not including the numerous bars, coffee shops and juice bars in town!

A great way to meet people and become involved in the community is to join one of the many clubs or volunteer for some of the deserving organizations in Ajijic. There is something here for just about everyone. And much, much more...

If that isn’t enough to keep you busy, why not have a facial or a massage at one of the spas in town, take in a movie at the 3 screen movie theatre (showing current, English language movies), work off last nights dinner at one of the fitness clubs, take a spinning class, a yoga class, or pilates, sign up for drawing or painting classes, or stroll down to the pier and watch the sunset.  And just when you think you are about done, there is always wonderful Guadalajara to explore.

You can be as busy as you want to be or not…but you’ll never be bored!
